People always laugh whenever I bust out my old flip phone to answer a call. I typically respond, “If it’s good enough for Captain Kirk, it’s good enough for me.” Thanks to my friend Bill, who was cleaning out his garage, I now have the real thing.
The Original Series Communicators from Mego are artfully repackaged walkie talkies that not only transmit conversations but make special effects! While the flip-top angle doesn’t quite fit the shape of one’s face, the 1974 toy still feels way better than a smartphone.
